Dental Restorative, Crowns & Bridges Services
Glen Burnie Dental Group covers all kinds of dental restorative services including dental crowns & bridges. It is normal that our teeth may get cracked, broken or decayed with the passage of time. The hard crunchy food, cold drinks and other alcoholic beverages damage the external protective layer (enamel) of our teeth and then suddenly our teeth become prone to bacterial infection and they need dental restorative care. We cover almost each kind of restorative dentistry like fillings for missing teeth, crown for a broken tooth, bridges for multiple teeth, implants and veneers to fix the teeth alignment. We also cover some advanced dental surgeries like root canal to deal with complex issues. Our experts always do a detailed dental checkup before suggesting the most suitable dental restorative care for a specific case.
Once the major problem is identified, our team suggests the best possible restorative dental services according to the budget or insurance plan of a patient. Furthermore, our expert dentists suggest personalized dental restorative care to each patient considering its age and daily routine.

Fillings
As the name suggests, fillings are designed to fill in gaps that can arise in your teeth due to cavities or other causes. Fillings can repair damaged, broken, and decayed teeth, making your teeth last longer. Your dentist will numb your teeth and gums with a local anesthetic, then remove decay with a dental drill. Then they will fill the space with a composite material that molds to the shape of your tooth.
In recent years, the silver fillings that used to be common have been replaced by tooth-colored fillings. This composite material contains small particles and synthetic resins that adhere better to the tooth surface. Some tooth-colored filling materials may release fluoride, which helps prevent further tooth decay or cavities.
Dental Crowns
A crown is a permanent covering made of porcelain, acrylic resin, gold, other metals, or a mix of these materials that fits over a cracked, damaged, or decayed tooth. Crowns can whiten, align, and reshape your original teeth for a healthy and vibrant smile.
While older crowns made of porcelain fused to metal can be conspicuous and unsightly, newer all-porcelain crowns have a natural appearance in color and shape. In addition to installing new crowns, Glen Burnie Dental Group commonly replaces older crowns with beautiful new porcelain crowns.
Crowns that are made and fitted correctly are extremely difficult to distinguish from natural teeth. Porcelain crowns typically have the most realistic appearance, with no dark lines visible at the gum line, although they can be less durable than other materials. Glen Burnie Dental Group uses one of the top laboratories in the country to create high-quality crowns and provide the best restorative dentistry to our patients.
Dental Bridges
Bridges use a filler tooth (or pontic) to fill the space where a tooth has fallen out or been removed. Without a bridge, other teeth near the space of the missing tooth can shift, which can lead to problems with your bite and jaw as well as periodontal disease. Bridges stabilize your existing teeth, keeping your smile healthy and straight.
Bridges usually require two trips to our office. During the initial visit, the dentist prepares the surrounding teeth by cleaning any plaque or decay and preparing the teeth so that the crowns can be fitted. The dentist makes a mold of the teeth and sends it to a dental lab, where they prepare a customized bridge. In the interim, the patient is fitted with a temporary bridge constructed of acrylic resin.
When the patient returns to the dental office in one to two weeks, the dentist removes the temporary bridge and replaces it with the permanent one. The dentist then adjusts the bridge for the proper fit and to the surrounding teeth permanently.
